On Monday (August 26), legendary singer and composer Benito di Paula paid a special visit to the Águia de Ouro samba school warehouse, located in the Pompeia neighborhood of São Paulo. Accompanied by the school's president, Sidnei Carriuolo, and carnival designer André Machado, Benito got to know the finalist sambas competing for the 2025 parade up close, as well as checking out the pilot costumes that will be used in the next Carnival.
During the visit, Benito di Paula, known for his compositions that integrate samba and MPB, expressed his admiration for the school and the quality of the work developed for the upcoming Carnival. “It is exciting to see up close the commitment and creativity that transform the dream of Carnival into reality. Águia de Ouro is to be congratulated for what I saw here today,” commented the artist.
President Sidnei Carriuolo highlighted the importance of Benito’s visit to the school. “Receiving an iconic figure like Benito di Paula is an honor for all of us. He is an inspiration to many samba dancers and his presence here reinforces our passion for samba even more,” he said.
André Machado, the carnival designer responsible for developing the theme, also shared his excitement. “We are working hard to create an unforgettable Carnival. Being able to show our creations to Benito di Paula is an extra incentive for our entire team,” he said.
